“Live Animation Heart x Algorhythm” Project Brings in Two Virtual Idols in the Summer

Posted in: Anime News

One of the most popular and well-known aspects of Japan’s entertainment community is the various idol stars that they have, from cute female solo artists to male-idol groups that provide eye-candy for the female masses, they’ve become a well-known aspect of Japanese entertainment. Now coming this summer, is a Japanese-Chinese co-production project on the creation of virtual idols.

Described as the “first animated live documentary variety program”, the project is entitled as the “Live Animation Heart x Algorhythm.” The two idols that are being created are two young females known as Kirin and Sai and will be played by Minori Suzuki and Emiri Iwai respectively.

For their backgrounds, Kirin is described as a passionate, pink-haired, native Japanese speaker with a love for Japanese culture and a hate for losing. Sai on the other hand is a quiet native Chinese speaker with blue hair and does things at her own pace. They were featured at a technology demonstration at the AnimeJapan 2017 booth for the project, which will be making its debut in the summer in both Japan and China and will be streamed on Niconico and on two Chinese streaming sites.

Just to give you an idea, a Dive-In-Training or Miranai Diva is an anime series produced using the popular 3D software MikuMikuDance back in 2014. This software is been useful for many due to its motion-capture technology feature. The project staff promoted the show as first of its kind in having a live anime program which features live singing and dance made possible by motion capture technology.

As the popularity continues, we hope that this project will prosper and hopefully get is fan base to grow for years to come.
