Collaboration between Sword Art Online and Kanda Myoujin Shrine Brings Limited Edition Merchandise

With its most recent success of having earned a total of 2,026,861,020 yen (about US$18.2 million) at the Japanese box office, “Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale”, the full-length anime film of the action fantasy series “Sword Art Online” is collaborating with the Kanda Myōjin Shrine for fans to enjoy limited edition merchandise of the franchise in turn.

Located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, The Kanda Myōjin is known not only for how close it is located to the nerve-center for all things anime and manga, Akihabara, but mainly for the mascot that they have. It is none other than Nozomi Tōjō of the “Love Live” franchise, working as the official mascot of the shrine as she is noted to work in a shrine in the franchise.

In result of this, an influx of “Love Live” fans came to the temple and amongst the crowds, a certain creator of a popular pirate series found admiration in the mix of anime and traditional Japanese culture.

For the merchandise that a fan can find at the shrine, they comprise of limited merchandise, like t-shirts, keychains, towels, posters, cups, and EMA phone straps and they will be sold at the Kanda Festival which will on May 13.
