It was revealed in the AnimeJapan 2017 event that Sekina Aoi and Saboten’s light novel series Gamers! will have its own anime series slated to premiere in Japan in July for a total of 12 episodes. It has also been confirmed in a flyer that the light novel series has sold over 400,000 copies in print since its first publication in 2014! The official website that was launched on Saturday revealed the anime’s key visual and other important information.

Manabu Okamoto will be directing the anime under the animation studios PIE JAM, Hiroki Uchida will be doing series composition, and Tensho Sato will be in charge of the anime’s character designs.

Just to give you a little synopsis about this series, it centers on the lives of high school students who do what they can to balance their academics and their love for video games. Gamers! gives you a glimpse on the lives of the loner Keita Amano, the video game club president Karen Tendo, and their other high school classmates Chiaki Hoshinomori and Tasuku Uehara.
With another anime adaptation slated for a premiere this year, we can definitely say that 2017 is going to be one fruitful year for more awesome anime goodness!
