Get ready to have your heartstrings pulled as the slice of life manga involving cute toddlers and sweet family moments, “Gakuen Babysitters” gains an anime adaptation. Having given a teaser on this the previous month, Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine is the one to confirm the news on Thursday in the cover of their May issue.
Created by Hari Tokienu, creator to the manga series “Me and My Brothers” and “Gyakuten Honey” and published in LaLa in 2009, the series focuses on the adventures of high school student Ryuuchi Kashima and his little brother Kotarou.
When the two lose their parents in a plane crash and are left with no one but one another, they suddenly find themselves taken under the wing of the chairwoman of Morinomiya Academy, who also lost her own son and daughter-in-law in the same accident.
However, their new home and guardian is not without a catch. In order for the two brothers to stay with her, the chairwomen gives Ryuuichi the condition that he is to become a part of the academy’s day-care centre as a babysitter.
Now alongside his toddler brother, who will also be placed in the day-care, the two brothers gain a new adventure of laughter and tears alongside the five other members of the day-care, the primary babysitter Usaida Yoshihito, their families, and the chairwoman with her butler.
In addition to the confirmation of an anime adaptation for the series, it has also been reported that on the same day that the anime adaptation was confirmed by the LaLa magazine, a flyer from this year’s AnimeJapan 2017 event revealed the premier for the anime.
Set to be released in 2018, with an estimation of around 12 episodes, the anime will be shown on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Animax. Though the time slot for the upcoming series is unconfirmed, it has been stated that it will most likely be “around midnight.”
Currently for the manga, the 13th volume has already been completed on August and coming this April 5, there will be a 14th volume.
