Arsène Lupin III, to the long-time anime fan, this name is one to remember. From the 80’s anime “Lupin III”, this character has made his mark as the world’s worst wanted thief and a genius mastermind. With his scheming ways and love for women, Lupin III has made his signature with his penchant for stealing heavily guarded and seemingly impossible to steal precious items. But one of the most well-known marks that fans will remember about Lupin III is that before every heist he leaves a calling card to announce his intent.
Now it seems that the infamous and gentlemanly thief shall be making his appearance in one of the Japanese curry chains of CoCo Ichibanya as the familiar calling card was spotted on the window of the Tsurukawa branch stating “I am coming to steal the treasure of CoCo Ichi. ~Lupin III”
No one knows of yet what this treasure might be, but it will most likely be taken by April 1. What’s more this character signature could be a hint of a collaboration event between the franchise and the chains which in turn means a chance of special merchandise, featured menu items, and new art. On the other hand, there is also the chance of there being an actual treasure, which is to be an interest to both patrons of the chains and fans of the franchise.
