Coming this April, the comedic sextuplets that is the Matsuno brothers are making their return with a special screening event set to occur in theatres throughout Japan. Announced yesterday on the official Osomatsu-san a.k.a. Mr. Osomatsu series website, the event is to be known as “Osomatsu-san: All Japan Big Invitational Screening Festival in Spring,” featuring the screening of not just the anime series’ episodes but also a newly-produced short has been added for viewing.
A total of six theatres located in the areas of Sapporo, Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama and Fukuoka have been slotted to simultaneously screen the selected episodes on their six screens starting on April 6 at 6:00 p.m. Each screen will be labelled with the name of a Matsuno brother and will be screening the episode featuring them.
For the eldest Osomatsu, his episodes are to be “Iyami’s Counterattack” featuring the battle for the protagonist role and “School Matsu” where he and his other brothers are placed into the roles of delinquent high schoolers. Karamatsu, the second eldest will be having the episodes, “The Karamatsu Incident” where he is taken hostage by childhood friend Chibita while his brothers deal with Ichimatsu’s cat gaining psychic abilities and “Christmas Osomatsu-san” where in one of the segments, he finds himself on a date.
The third brother Choromatsu will be having the episodes featuring the brothers attempting to pass a job interview in “Interview” and “Dayon Tribe” where the brothers encounter an underground civilization comprised of ‘Dayon’ people. For the surly cat lover Ichimatsu, his featured episodes comprise of “ESP Kitty” where his cat gains the ability to speak the truth in people’s hearts and “The Ichimatsu Incident” wherein he pretends to be Karamatsu upon being found to be wearing his clothes.
The cheerful and baseball fanatic Jyushimatsu’s episodes are going to be “Jyushimatsu Falls in Love” where as stated in the title, the fifth brother experiences what it is to be in love and “Christamas Osomatsu-san” featuring a segment of him waiting to capture Santa. Last but not least the youngest and “cutest” brother Todomatsu will be having the episodes “Todomatsu and the 5 demons” wherein he undergoes a threat to his social life through the arrival of his brothers at his workplace and “The Star of Hope, Todomatsu” where he holds auditions to take one of his brothers with him to a mixer.
In addition to the featured episodes of each brothers, there will also be the “Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi” special as well as the new short for viewing. For those who wish to buy advanced screening tickets they rate at 1,800 yen while the regular screening rate on the other hand is 1,500 yen. Currently the website has been streaming a trailer of the screenings since Monday.
