Japanese Actress Maki Horikita Retires

Known for her notable roles in the live-action Densha Otoko and Hana Kimi series, Japanese actress Maki Horikita announced her retirement from the entertainment industry on her official website on Tuesday. According to Horikita, she wanted to focus on being a mother and a wife to her husband and fellow Japanese actor Koji Yamamoto. Yamamoto has no objections to her retirement and respects her wife’s decision on the matter.

Aside from being the actress on the mentioned live-action shows, she also provided the voice for the Luke Triton in the Professor Layton franchise which also includes the anime film Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva.
