Torishimo, ‘Dokuru-chan’ Illustrator Passes Away

Posted in: Anime News

It’s still the first quarter for 2017 and the Japanese manga and light novel industry has lost another great individual. The literary group ”Kenō Kōsoku Kōtsū” announced on Friday that character designer and illustrator Torishimo passed away on February 20. This was also confirmed by Yuki Kitagawa, an employee of the adult game company August Soft.

Torishimo is known for working behind the character design and illustrations of Masaki Okayu’s Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan light novel series. The ten-volume light novel series also paved way to a manga adaptation by Mitsuna Ouse as well as the Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan Ripiru manga by Kasumu Kirino.

An anime adaptation of the light novels was created in 2005 with an original video anime series (Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan Second) released in 2007.
