March is in and now there Is only weeks to go until Easter Sunday officially arrives. Already various anime and gaming franchises have announced different promos and adds involving the celebration’s motifs of rabbits, flowers, eggs and chocolates. One of the most noteworthy franchises to join the Easter theme merchandising is the ever popular Pokemon with its iconic and adorable mascot, Pikachu.
This March 18, Pokemon Centre stores throughout Japan presents the mouse Pokemon itself adorning a flower crown and posing with painted eggs in various types of merchandise to be known as “Pikachu’s Easter” goods. Ranging from different sweets, dishware, fashion accessories, plushies, and stationaries, prices reach as low as 210 yen for a clear file up to 3,200 yen for a purse.
But the Pokemon merchandising doesn’t stop there; it has been reported that from March 18 to April 9, Pokemon Centres will be having in-game Pokemon Eggs as gifts available to players who visit them. Should they be able to hatch the egg, and receive either a Mareanie, Oranguru, Passimian, Turtonator, Drampa or Goomy and present them to a staff member of a Pokemon centre, they have a chance to receive
In addition to this, on April 1, so long as supplies are able to last, customers can have a chance to receive an additional card illustrating either a Maraeanie, Passimian, Turtonator, or even an Easter Pikachu inside an egg-shaped packaging should they purchase five Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion packs.
