LiSA Tops iTunes J-Pop Charts with ‘Sword Art Online’ Movie Theme

Two weeks ago, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale online film premiered in Japan and some selected countries in Asia (Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, and Vietnam. Aside from the movie hype, the theme song being used in the film also got hype in the iTunes J-Pop charts.

LiSA’s theme song and single for the SAO movie titled “Catch the Moment” debuted on February 15. It ranked at #4 in Oricon’s daily singles chart and rose immediately to #1 on February 18 and 19. This is her first single ever to have reached #1 in the digital music charts.
So far, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale earned around 425, 762, 760 yen in its opening weekend alone. Let’s hope that this movie will have screenings in the West very soon.
