Japan Retailers Hint on a New ‘Hell Girl’ Anime Series

Posted in: Anime News

It has been a while since we have heard of any news of Hell Girl— not until recently. Two Japanese retailers namely Honya Club and Tsutaya have sort of spilled the beans of hints of a new Hell Girl in July.

Both retailers list a Kessakusen Kachofugetsu volume of the manga set to release in March. The volume is said to contain a booklet of production designs for a “new anime series to air in July”. The manga volume will compile the popular characters of the first anime series’ manga.

There has not much info being released as of this time. We can only wait for July to roll in.

Hell Girl also called Jigoku Shōjo: Girl from Hell, is an anime series that has been produced by Aniplex and Studio Deen. It centers around the existence of a supernatural system that allows people to take revenge by having other people, such as your rivals or enemies, sent to Hell via the services of the mysterious title character and her assistants who implement this strange system. Revenge, hate, emotion, and injustice are common themes through the series. It premiered across Japan on numerous television stations, including Animax, Tokyo MX, MBS and others, between October 4, 2005 and April 4, 2006.
