As of Monday, new details on the release date, staff and a visual have been released for the upcoming anime adaptation of mystery novel series “Vatican Kiseki Chōsakan” a.k.a. “Vatican Miracle Examiner” on its official website.
Published in 2011 under the label of Kadokawa’s Horror Bunko, the novels created by Rin Fujiki, the series tells the story of genius scientist Hiraga Josef Kou and archives and cryptanalysis expert Robert Nicholas. Working together as a team of “miracle” examiners, the pair travel the world in order to investigate claims of miracles.
Working as the director of the series at the company that worked on series such as “Nodame Cantabile” and “Shakugan no Shana” is Yoshitomo Yonetani, director of different series inclunding “Brigadoon” and “Betterman.” Kazunori Iwakura, an artist who is known for having worked on the characters of the “AI Yorinuske” and “Aria the Scarlet Amo” shall be working on the character designs of the upcoming series. Last but not least, working as the series composer is the person behind the composition of series “No. 6” and “Shigurui: Death Fremzy.”
Currently there are over 14 volumes that have been published with over a million copies in print. The most recent volume being number 14, was released on December 22. For the 15th volume, there will be a shipment on the 25h of February. It was on August 12 that a manga adaptation was released and on another note, the covers were created by Thores Shibamoto, character designer for the series “Trinity Seven” and illustrator for “Attack on Titan: Before the Fall.”
The series itself is set to be open around the summer season and the new visual that has been released presents the two main characters on it.
There has been no further detail given on the staff nor cast other than what has been reported.
