Dick Burna, Creator of the 'Miffy' Children's Books Passes Away

Miffy is a rabbit character and children’s book series created in 1955 by a Dutch named Dick Bruna. Although the origin of the character and the books are from West. Miffy is quite a popular rabbit character in Japan. Miffy has sold over 80 million books worldwide and translated into more than 50 languages. It had its own anime series in 1997 as well as other animated series being produced in the Netherlands.

Sad to say however that the creator of this well-loved character died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday. Dick Burna was 89 years old. The last book that that he created for Miffy was in 2011. There’s a measeum in the Netherlands that is dedicated to his well-loved character.
