‘Kabukibu!’ anime releases video, introduces main cast and characters

Kadokawa began streaming a video on Wednesday, introducing the main cast members of the anime adaptation of Yuuri Eda’s Kadokawa! light novel series. And if you’re thinking that the characters seemed to remind you of something, that’s probably because it’s CLAMP who did the character designs.

The Kabukibu! anime, directed by Kazuhiro Yoneda, is set to premiere in Japan this coming April. Composing of 12 episodes, the series adapts CLAMP’s original designs for its animation.

Story Synopsis (by Crunchyroll)

“Kurogo “Kuro” Kurusu is a 1st year high school student who inherited a love for all things Kabuki from his grandfather. Kuro wants nothing more than to join the Kabuki club and perform in extracurricular theater activities at his school. Unfortunately, no such club exists, so Kuro decides to make one. Will Kuro be able to find a teacher for a sponsor as well the required 5 members to make his dream come true?”
