‘Boruto: Naruto Next Generations’ television anime gets original story

This ninth issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced early this week that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime will feature an original story, set to premiere in April 2017.

Masashi Kishimoto, creator of both Naruto and Boruto, first announced that Boruto will be getting an anime series during the Jump Festa last December. The news was later confirmed by Shonen Jump in its official Twitter account.

In an interview during the event, Kishimoto reportedly disclosed that he plans to make Boruto “even better than Naruto.”

Last year,the sequel story to the super hit ninja manga and anime series, Naruto, launched the movie, Boruto – Naruto the movie, with Boruto as the series’ main character.

Returning Cast from the movie
• Yuko Sanpei as Boruto Uzumaki
• Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada Uchiha
• Ryūichi Kijima as Mitsuki

A manga adaptation of Boruto by Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto has been covering up the story in film so far. It was first published on May 9.
