The second season of Yuki Yuna is a Hero (Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru) television anime will premiere in October, its official website revealed over the weekend.

The first part of the second season, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter (Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Washio Sumi no Shō), will compose of six episodes. It will adapt Takahiro and BUNBUN’s illustrated spin-off novel series. It will also be released as a trilogy film between March 18 and July 2017—the first film slated to open on March 18, the second film on April 15, and the third film on July 8.

On the other hand, the second season’s second part, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero: Hero Chapter (Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru: Yūsha no Shō), will be a direct sequel to the anime’s first television series. It will also compose of six episodes.

Yuki Yuna is a Hero’s first season aired as 12-episode anime series in Japan between October 16 and December 2014 in Japan. It was simulcasted by Crunchyroll and was also licensed by Pony Canyon’s North American label Ponycan USA.

The story revolves around Yūna, Mimori, Fū, and Itsuki, who were all members of the Sanshu Middle School Hero Club dedicated to help those who were in need. One day, following an explosion of light, they were transported to a forest where they encounter monsters called Vertex which sought the destruction of the guardian deity of humanity, Shinju.
