Anime Tourism Association Opens "Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.) Official Tour."

Highly praised, with multiple awards and considered as the highest-grossing anime film worldwide, “Your Name” a.k.a “Kimi no Na Wa” only continues to grow in popularity. Now with the most recent announcement in relation to the film, fans can have something to look forward to. For a total of 5 to 6 days in between 1 March, Wednesday and 30 April, Sunday 2017 there will be an event known as the “Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa.) Official Tour.”

Held by the Tokyo-based Anime Tourism Association with the support of the “Cool Japan Initiative” of the Japanese government; the tour is one of the seven experimental projects that was given financial support last December. On the other hand, “Cool Japan Initiative”, formally released in 2010 was created in order to increase exports of “cultural products” and an enhanced national image of Japan.

In this tour, participants will be able to experience a free Seichi Junrei (Holy Pilgrimage) tour to visit the real locations featured in the film. These locations include the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture and Tokyo and a total of 30 participants shall be allowed to go through the tour.
Those that wish to join the tour are required to undergo an application process where they may only be able to take one application form as the period for getting one spans from 20 January to 28 February 2017 depending on the tour operator.

Currently the Japanese government had launched a new project with a total budget is 130 million yen (1.135 million US dollars). The aim for this project is to strengthen the partnership among each Cool Japan bases in May 2016 and 32 companies/organizations.

For now, fans can enjoy this current event by seeing where the film has been set and where the art of the scenery has derived from.
