'Kuma Miko' Manga Artist Releases New Magical Girl Manga This February

It was revealed in the second issue of Young Magazine on Friday that manga artist Masamune Yoshimoto will be launching a new “magical girl historical manga” series titled Maho Shojo Omatsu. The manga’s first chapter is slated to be released in the magazine’s next issue this February 5.

Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear is Yoshimoto’s known work first launched in the May 2013 issue of Monthly Comic Flapper magazine. In March 2014, Kadokawa added the manga to ComicWalker, a web comic service and they also released the seveth compiled volume last September 23. The manga is released in the North America region by One Peace Books with the second compiled volume been released last December 20. The popularity of the manga series also paved way to an anime adaptation in which the first episode was aired in Japan last April 2016.
