For any anime fan that’s looking for an anime to watch during the weekend they can take a look on a rerun marathon of comedy series “Nichijou” a.k.a “My Ordinary Life” for Japan viewership. Based on the manga created by Keiichi Awari under the same name it was first serialized in December 2006 while the anime series aired inbetween April and September 2011 with a total of 26 episodes.
The story centres around the daily lives of the energetic Yūko Aioi, cheerful Mio Naganohara, quiet but intelligent Mai Minakami, and the anxious female android Nano Shinonome as school girls in the town of Tokisadame. Throughout the series they undergo different types of adventures with random plots made through the mundane situation of each character.
While it may seem mostly as a comedy at first look there is also a semblance of plot that gives focus on the character. Specifically, on the android Nara with her creator, the eight-year-old Professor and her yearning to be a student then following her life with the other three girls. In result this created a mix of the elements the of slice-of-life genre along with the surrealistic manner the comedy genre.
The stream is to be held by the company “Niconico” starting at 8 p.m. JST until the following day. Should one want to watch it they would be required to create or log in with a (free) Niconico account. However, one should also note that the stream is also region locked.
Around 4 to 5 episodes will be shown in a block followed by a brief intermission after each episode. While a reairing marathon of an anime is rarely done this stream is no indication of an upcoming project in relation to this anime. The only news to be found in relation to this is the fact that the creater Awari is working on his latest piece “CITY”
