1st Volume DVD of "Osomatsu-san" gains Top Rank in Anime DVD Sales

There are different types of comedy in the anime community, sometimes it is a way to lighten the mood of a generally action packed anime or simply a genre that a viewer can look to to enjoy. But amongst the anime within the comedy genre, “Osomatsu-san” has left quite the mark amongst anime fans.

Telling the unique tale of the sextuplets Matsuno siblings the rebooted anime stemmed from its 1962 predecessor ran for a total of twenty-five episodes with a single special. Now an announcement has been made by Oricon that the “Osomatsu-san” 1st volume DVD has gained the top rank for top-selling disc in the anime/tokusatsu DVD section with over 66,275 units sold.

In total the anime has eight volumes of DVDs and all of the have been ranked in the anime/tokusatsu section with the second volume and third volume having sold 47,965 and 37,268 units, respectively. The main kicker for the anime to have gained its rank is due to the fact that when the DVD units are combined to the Blu-ray sales it amounts to a total of 115,00 total units and cementing its rank.
