It’s only been two days since the popular skating anime “Yuri!!! On Ice” has ended and yet the fandom continues on strong with talks/rants on the anime’s good writing, relatable characters, and well-done animation all over social media; especially with the fact that the anime itself had given a possible teaser of a second season with its final shot of “See you next Level”.
As a matter of fact, there already has been a report of the anime having dominated the Fall anime twitter rankings with over 1,440,596 tweets in total from the month of November to December, an admirable feat seeing as the anime had only been released in October.
Now fans have another thing to look forward to for as of Thursday the anime’s official site has announced of an all-night marathon screening of the anime to occur on February 11 starting at 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day at the TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo with tickets costing around 3,800 yen (about 32 USD) and sales starting at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Expected to occur at the marathon is the inclusion of a talk show where not only will co-creator Mitsurou Kubo present but also voice actors Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Yūri Katsuki), Junichi Suwabe (Victor), and Kouki Uchiyama (Yuri Plisetsky) shall be making their appearance.
Additional to the appearance of one of the minds behind the show and the cast, fans will be able to bring banners, shout, clap and even sing-along during the screening. Now along with re-watching the od Yuri Katsuki’s journey with his coach Viktor Nikiforov for gold at the Grand Prix Finals and his encounters with the skaters from all over the world fans will have a chance to join together in their enjoyment of the show and even sing along to the memorable songs of the anime such as the opening of “History Maker” by Dean Fujioka, the ending “You Only Live Once” by Wataru Hatano and even the considerably catchy soundtrack of “Theme of King JJ”.
