The eleventh episode of the fifth season of Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume’s Book of Friends) television anime, Natsume Yuujinchou Go, revealed that the series will have a sixth season.

The sixth season, Natsume Yuujinchou Roku , is slated to premiere in 2017.

Natsume Yuujinchou anime series is based on the original manga written and illustrated by Yuki Midorikawa. It tells the story of Natsume Takashi, a young lad who has the ability to see spirits or youkai, which causes other people to shun him.

Natsume one day inherits the Book of Friends from his late grandmother, who, like him, was isolated by other people when she was young due to her ability to see spirits. The book contains the name of spirits his grandmother had forced into servitude and because the item is highly prized item in the spirit world, many spirits haunted Takashi, some seeking vengeance, others seeking for his help.
