Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc gets Anime Adaptation

CLAMP’s classic magical girl anime series Cardcaptor Sakura returns to our TV screen!

Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine earlier revealed that Cardcaptor Sakura: Clearcard-hen (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clearcard Arc) gets an anime series that will air on NHK in January 2018. The series will be directed by Morio Asaka, who also directed the original Cardcaptor Sakura anime series.

The story of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clearcard-hen sequels the original Cardcaptor Sakura story. In Clearcard-hen, Sakura enters her junior highschool life after graduating from Tomoeda Elemtary School. Sakura then dreams a mysterious dream, which marks the start of an incident.

The CLAMP’s original Cardcaptor Sakura manga series was published by Nakayoshi from May 1996 to June 200O. Meanwhile, the anime series was produced by Madhouse that first aired from 1998 to 2000 in Japan. In 1999, the Cardcaptor Sakura:movie was screened in Japan, which was later followed by another movie in 2000, entitled Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card.
