Amazon will be catering to the English dub streaming of Goro Miyazaki’s 3DCG adaptation of Swedish author’s Astrid Lindgren’s (Pippi Longstocking) children fantasy novel “Ronja the Robber’s Daughter.” Hayao’s son worked with Polygon Pictures, Saltkrakan (the Astrid Lindgren Company) and Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle) for the said project. The 26-episode animated series will be available on Amazon Prime, with Gillian Anderson (X-Files) as the overall narrator.

The series centers on Ronja, an adventurous daughter of a professional robber, who loves to roam a magnificent and dangerous forest which serves as a home for various mythical creatures. When she meets Birk, a child from an opposing community, she learns how difficult and problematic her father’s job. Thus, she looks for ways so that she could help maintain peace and bonding with her family and Birk. Ronja learns a great lesson regarding how family and friends work on their differences and issues to achieve peace and harmony.
