Ikigami: The Ultimate Limit [Manga]
In a world where Japan has a “National Welfare Act”, which ensures that during vaccinations in first grade, 1 out of every 1000 children will be, unknowingly, injected with a nanomachine that will detonate in their heart between the ages of 18 and 24, so the people in the country will value life more.
The plot revolves around Kengo Fujimoto, a man whose job is to deliver “Ikigamis” to the house of those scheduled to die. They are warned by these ikigamis that they will die in exactly 24 hours. Kengo questions his job’s morality and honor, which may bring up problems due to the fact that those found voicing negative opinions of the National Welfare Act are put to death.
