Crunchyroll Reveals Trailer, Cast, Staff, October Debut of Anime Adaptation of Korean Manhwa “Noblesse”

Crunchyroll is on a, well, roll, as they announce the adaptation of another Korean manhwa! This time, it’s the popular WEBTOON manhwa series Noblesse, by Jeho Son and Kwangsu Lee.

Just last Thursday, Crunchyroll revealed the trailer for the TV anime adaptation, which you can watch here!

The main cast are:

·        Tarusuke Shingaki as Cadis Etrama di Raizel

·        Daisuke Hirakawa as Frankenstein

·        Kosuke Onishi as M-21

·        Ryōta Iwasaki as Yusuke Tashiro

·        Yōhei Hamada as Manabu Kase

The anime adaptation of Noblesse is, like its fellow manhwas-turned-anime-series Tower of God and God of High School, a co-production between Crunchyroll and WEBTOON. The anime series will be directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto (Hinomaru Sudo, Squid Girl Season 2), with Sayaka Harada (STARMYU, Code:Realize – Guardian of Rebirth – ) in charge of series composition. Character designs will be handled by Akihari Ishii (The Prince of Tennis II), who is also chief animation supervisor. The series will be animated by Production I.G.

Crunchyroll describes Noblesse’s story as such:

“Raizel awakens from his 820-year slumber.

He holds the special title of Noblesse, a pure-blooded Noble and protector of all other Nobles. In an attempt to protect Raizel, his servant Frankenstein enrolls him at Ye Ran High School, where Raizel learns the simple and quotidian routines of the human world through his classmates.

However, the Union, a secret society plotting to take over the world, dispatches modified humans and gradually encroaches on Raizel’s life, causing him to wield his mighty power to protect those around him…

After 820 years of intrigue, the secrets behind his slumber are finally revealed, and Raizel’s absolute protection as the Noblesse begins!”

Noblesse was first posted in WEBTOON on December 30, 2007 and ended serialization last January 2019. The series was also one of the first to receive an English translation at the launch of the English version of the WEBTOON app in 2014.
