Synopsis
Kinue was a simple saleswoman who worked in the futon section of a department store. That is until she was suddenly transferred to the women’s department one day. Less than happy with this given how she has little care for clothes, Kinue finds herself thrown into the tough reality of the fashion world. Under the supervision and rule of her new boss Miki, Kinue soon finds herself discovering more to work, fashion, and even life.
The Good
As a series that features the concept of working with fashion and clothing, it does more than well in presenting this aspect with the different outfits and styles shown by the characters. Aside from the work and fashion aspects being a highlight of the series, the character development made for a strong point of the series. It was sensible in how it showed Kinue’s shift from hating dressing up from learning to appreciating fashion. Simply put, the series gave a strong presentation of work, fashion mixed with some solid character development.
Other than Kinue, Miki also makes for a strong character in that she is portrayed as a strong and business smart woman that you can’t help but respect as a character. Actually, there is a lot of strong characters to be found with the series, especially given the business aspect of the work.
The Bad
The one notable problem with the series is in how it attempted to go for a romance for the main character. There was nothing wrong with it, but it ended up not really going anywhere and would have been better off as having not been a part of the series. It would have been better if rather than a potential romance, a deep friendship was formed instead. Well, technically it was, but taking out the whole romantic tension and moments would have been better.
Conclusion
For those who are into shows about fashion mixed in with another concept, this is a show to watch. With the different styles and outfits shown, you can really appreciate the thought and development that the show presents. Another thing to enjoy with the series is the strong female characters and the way that they develop. If the series had taken out the possible romance aspect, it would have been even better.
