New English Subtitled Trailer Released for ‘I Want to Eat Your Pancreas’ Anime Film

A second English-subtitled trailer of the I Want to Eat Your Pancreas anime film was uploaded by Aniplex of America on Wednesday. In this latest video, the song “Fafare” performed by rock band sumika was previewed.

The movie is slated to premiere in Japan on September 1. A preview screening for the film will be held in Tokyo on July 24. Aniplex of America has also confirmed that they will be screening the movie in the United States.

Kimi no Suizo o Tabetai (Let Me Eat Your Pancreas or I Want to Eat Your Pancreas) is an animated film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Yoru Sumino.

Mahiro Takasugi and Lynn will respectively be playing the roles of the unnamed male protagonist and female character Sakura Yamauchi.

Let Me Eat Your Pancreas’s story is narrated from an unnamed protagonist’s point of view when he founds a diary in the hospital one day which belonged to his classmate named Sakura Yamauchi. Yamauchi is suffering from a terminal illness in her pancreas and is only given a few months to live. It was only the unnamed protagonist that knows about her conditional aside from her family.

Despite obvious differences, the protagonist promises to keep Sakura’s illness a secret and decided to be with her in the last few months of her life.
