Taking the Role of Inkarmat in Golden Kamuy is Mamiko Noto

The “Golden Kamuy” anime gains a new cast member as the series’ official Twitter announces that Mamiko Noto will be taking the role of Ainu fortune-teller Inkarmat.

Mamiko Noto is a voice actress who began her career in 2006. Her prominent roles include
Rin in Inuyasha, Enma Ai in Hell Girl, Mavis Vermillion in Fairy Tail, Sawako Kuronuma in Kimi ni Todoke, and Yukako Yamagishi in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Currently, the series is at its 11th episode. The rest of the cast for the series include:

The story of the series sets during the turbulent late Meiji Era and in the mighty Northern field of Hokkaido. After surviving the Russo-Japanese war and earning the moniker “Immortal Sugimoto”, soldier Saichi Sugimoto takes part of the search for gold promised by Hokkaido’s Gold Rush. This search is in order to earn a fortune in order to save the widowed wife of his now deceased comrade from the war.

During his search, he hears the tale of a hidden stash of gold by corrupt criminals. Upon being saved by a pure Ainu girl named Ashiripa the two team up to search for the escaped criminals who hold pieces of the map to the gold. In their journey, they end up facing against not only vicious convicts but the military as well.

The “Golden Kamuy” anime is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. A special note for the series is that the Ainu language in the story is supervised by Hiroshi Nakagawa, an Ainu language linguist from Chiba University.
