The anime adaptation of the Magical Girl Ore manga is officially listed to have a total of 12 episodes as confirmed by Amazon. Four DVD and Blu-ray volumes will be released from July to October in Japan, 1 new volume release each month.
The anime will premiere on Monday in Japan. Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime as well with the first two episodes to its premium users.
It was in December 2017 that the anime adaptation for the manga by Icchokusen Mōkon was announced. The anime will be making its debut in April 2018 and is directed by Itsuro Kawasaki, who also worked as a storyboard artist on different anime including “Kuroko’s Basketball” with character designs done by Yukiko Ibe, the artist behind “Onigiri’s” characters. Working the animation production is studio +Pierrot.
As for the cast, it includes starting from left to right, Toshiyuki Toyona, the voice of Yuuri Katsuki in “Yuri!!! On Ice” as the voice of Mohiro Mikage, a top idol whom is adored by protagonist Saki. Then there is Kouji Yusa, who played the role of Lau in “Black Butler” as a fellow member of Mohiro’s in the idol unit Star☆Prince, Hyoue. Finally from the three is Showtaro Morikubo, known for his role as Shikamaru Nara in “Naruto” will now be playing the role of Saki and Sakuyo’s manager, Konami Yamo.
For the remaining two members of the additional cast/characters, there is Sayori Uno, Saki’s mother, to be voiced by Aya Hisakawa, who played as Kerberos in “Cardcaptor Sakura.” Last but not least is Kazuya Ichijou, the voice behind Mondo in “Going Wild” to play the role of Kokoro-chan, the mascot who bound Saki and the others under a magical girl contract.
With the previously revealed cast/characters, there is Kaito Ishikawa, who voiced as Tobio Kageyama in “Haikyuu” to play as the pink haired protagonist, Saki Uno and Wataru Hatano, the voice behind Gajeel Redfox in “Fairy Tail” to take on the role fellow magical girl Sakuyo Mikage.
Most recently, the official website of the series released a trailer featuring the song “Hachimitsu Flash Kawaru wa ne” by Magical Twin.
The story of the series tells of Saki Uno, an aspiring singer for the idol unit Magical Twin. She also holds a major crush on her best friend’s brother, Mohiro Mikage, the lead singer of the top male idol unit STAR☆PRINCE.
One day she discovers that her mother was a former magical girl and is distressed by the news. But when Mohiro is in endangered, she agrees to a magical girl contract in order to save her beloved. Her new magical girl status however, is not as cracked up as it’s meant to be, especially when she transforms.
The manga which was created by Icchokusen Mōkon was released in 2012 and serialized by Fusion Product’s Comic Be magazine.
