With the upcoming TV anime adaptation of the light novel series “Kabukibu” by Yuuri Eda to premier in April 2017 with the direction of Kazuhiro Yoneda and animation done by “Studio Deen” it has been announced that a manga adaptation shall be made as well and shall be published in “Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace seinen” manga magazine.
The story on which the source material tells is focused on Kabuki (Japanese dance-drama) loving 1st year high schooler Kurogo “Kuro” Kurusu. Due to his love of Kabuki stemmed from his grandfather Kuro wants nothing more than to join to perform in extracurricular theatre activities by joining his school’s Kabuki club only to find that no such club exists. Now he faces the challenge of creating his dream club by gathering the five required members as well as teacher to act as the sponsor of the club.
The manga itself will be illustrated by Chizu Kimiko, known for her with “Q Mysteries”. The designs of the characters for this adaptation shall be based on the designs made for the anime adaptation as provided by the company CLAMP. Overall the manga shall be released on February 02, 2017 as part of the March 2017 issue of “Young Ace”.
