'Sword Art Online' Film Inspires a Release of a Real-World AR App

In case you’re not aware, Sword Art Online will have its own anime film centered on an augmented-reality (AR) MMORPG game called “Ordinal Scale”. Aniplex has recently released an official AR application for the Android and iOS related to the mentioned anime film.

If you are able to play related smartphone applications like Pokemon GO, then getting into this AR game would be a breeze for you. In this app, you are able to take pictures of characters as well as track down unique ones from over 1000 locations in Japan’s 30 prefectures. You can use your device’s GPS to help you find specific characters and take a picture. Another unique feature of this app is that they can their captured monsters and characters as “camera frames” for you to add or edit later on as well an offer more than 150 varieties of camera frames to chose from. Freebies are given to users who log in to the app every day.
