If you haven’t seen The Secret World Of Arrietty yet, what have you been waiting for? The movie just recently fell out of the top ten at the box office which means it’s not long for theater screens. What’s that? You’d rather wait for the DVD/Blu ray release? Good news, you won’t have to wait long because Amazon has already put up a placeholder which announced a June release date. Too bad we can’t narrow it down anymore than that but still, only a couple of months away!
In other Studio Ghibli news, it was announced today that the Japanese release of From Up On Poppy Hill (which won the Japan Academy Award recently) will include English subtitles. The movie releases on June 20th and includes loads of extras such as a storyboard picture-in-picture feature, the recording dialogue script, the theme song press conference, footage from Aoi Teshima’s live concert which marked the film’s opening, onstage greetings by the staff and cast after the first preview screening, onstage greetings on opening day, the theme song’s music video, and trailers. There will also be a 2 disc special edition which will include a special interview and footage from Yokohama City where the movie is based.
