oh god I know this is going to end up in a huge fight but I'm curious to see where this goes.

I'll start us off PS3 is better because you don't have to pay to play online

i switched over to xbox, surprisingly. my ps3 was getting annoying, so i gave the xbox a try, and the connection is much better.

PS3 has a wide range of releases as well. From Killzone to Demon's Souls. Lol! We also get all the DLC you guys get, if a little late."

ah! whell that sucks!! im starting to like the PS3 more and more! although, comparing the games i have played on the PS3 and Xbox, i prefer Xbox games.

fair enough but what if hypothetically Halo was on PS3 what would you buy a XBOX360 or a PS3?

Xbox 360 because we have the better exclusives plus we get all the map packs for Call of duty before Ps3. Though I like Ps3 home and the web browser, I like the community on Xbox live. Ps3 users are too quiet. We got the Halo series, Gears of War and Left 4 Dead also a few others I cant remember at the moment. I do respect Sony though since the Ps2 is my favorite console followed by N64 and SNES.

They were trying to lower the price, seeing as 1st gens were ridiculously expensive.

you may get map packs sooner but I get games 3 months before they are supposed to be released and also the PS3 has had many great titles like Resistance, Dead Space, a lot more anime related titles and many more.

We got Dead Space as well, though I do admit you guys have more anime titles which makes me mad and sad but I still stick with the 360 :3

SNES! But no, seriously. I only have a 360. Does the PS3 let you play your own music instead of the game's music? Because that's what I like about it. Except that it plays more loudly then the voice acting, so it's horrible for games like the Fable series, where hearing characters talk is very important.

i have both but i prefer my xbox 360, the ps3 is mainly my blu-ray player. and yes ps3 has a larger library of games but xbox has a larger library of games i actually want to play. and xbox's customer support is way better

I bought a 360 in 2006 and it RROD in '07. I went through two more 360s that did the same. In '08 I bought my PS3. Never looked back.

Ultimately it comes down to the console exclusive games and some other features. I loved Gears of War, Viva Pinata & Dead Rising which were only on 360. For PS3 exclusives I love MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, LBP & Demon's Souls.

The PS3 obviously has Blu-Ray but a lot of game companies give 360 exclusive DLC rights that PS3 doesn't seem for months if even at all. That really bums me out; like the Dead Rising 2 DLC that has only come out for 360.

and on a side note why buy the games when you can just borrow from a friend then copy the main files for the game XP so basically a win win no cash spent on anything XD

And because we're not all pirates... Only on weekends, lolz.

i own both, that said my xbox360 gets way more use, ps3 may have a bigger library of games but xbox has a bigger library of games i actually care about. also Microsoft is just a better company and their customer support is way better, my ps3 would never get any use if it wasn't for demon's souls, metal gear solid 4, and the blu-ray player. i don't mind the xbox live fee since it's only necessary for online play not dlc, and I'm not a huge online gamer (I'm not a call of duty fan and most rpg's aren't multi-player) and Sony's online capabilities aren't as good as xbox, like being able to just chat with someone with your headset without having to be playing the same game. also the xbox controller layout just works better for me, it feels more comfortable.

yeh well if you cant afford the console in the first place, then the computer becomes the next best thing XP and its really not that hard to get an emulator nor is it that hard to make one X)

for ps3 emulator program name is PSTE (playstation true emulator) or one of my favs Pcsx2 but the original Pcsx2 was kinda limited so the one i have is modded to play ps3 games

not really into xbox but the name for an emulator for that one is CxBx and then there's the XBox 360 DVD-Rom driver firmware hack that you can do

if you look up the emulator for xbox you probably wont receive much info because most of the emulators i work with are on underground sites, usually ones that require a subscription to view any information at all or even download anything

any other emu's i have are basically classified because they are modded and havent been released to the general public, one reason i said "its called having real good friends" XP

You have to boot into a modded bios to create a virtual system - I've got one for my old PS2 games.

I vote for the 'XBOX 360'! Why? Simple.

Because It's the only system I own. Heh. If I had a 'PS3' and no '360' then I would vote for the 'PS3'. Of course if I owned both I wouldn't post.

Neither is "better". They both cater to differing tastes. If one is your preference, that's the one you pick.

I'd say they're about even in terms of game library, although for the first time PS3 is looking to have a much stronger year than 360 in terms of exclusives.

In regards to paying for online, XBL's charge is a little exorbitant, but you get what you pay for. The servers are premium and run better.

True stuff there, plus I find that it acts as a bit of an age filter, as the parents have to actually go out of their way to pay for their children's account - whereas with PS3 any 7 y/old can make an account and start screaming in my ear.

my view on this is the ps3 has better graphics but the online gameplay isnt as good. The xbox 360 has the better games and is more competitive.

honestly on a 47 inch 1080p lcd hdtv i can't tell the difference in graphics if it's the same game ps3 vs 360, i can game to game but that has nothing to do with the console and everything to do with the game's developer, there are a couple games i can tell the difference Oblivion looks better on ps3 (it also came out 8 months after the xbox version so they had more time to polish it) and fear looks better on 360 (they did a half-assed port) so again it's the game's developer not the console that determines if the graphics are good. both consoles are capable of the same graphical output. save for sony's 3D option which doesn't interest me in the least.

Xbox doesn't have better games, PS3 does they have all the anime related titles on PS3

It really comes down to what you like to play in the end. I can say that ps3 has better single player gameplay but i just like the xbox because of the online gameplay and all the tryhards that you can laugh at

agreed the wii is crap, i want to relax and play a game not flail around like an idiot, which makes me sad because both xbox and ps3 have taken up motion gaming, and also because i may never enjoy a zelda game (one of my all time favorite franchises) again.

c'mon, guys its not fair, you may not like but others do, LOL there are new generations that have never heard of the classics such as Super Mario World, Street Fighter II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time ... reflecting on this made me realise i can't enjoy them either :( :(

i think public outcry to Nintendo to start caring about making good games instead of making crappy peripherals so they don't end up like sega. they have the money and resources to make a great console they just need to take the next gen leap into HD and go back to a standard controller

I've had them both and I personally like the PS3 more. Partially because I grew up with Sony and Nintendo, I never had an original Xbox. When people say the Xbox has a wider variety of games, that seems lime a flat out lie to me. Most games are ported to both consoles and the only note able exlusives Xbox has are Shooters; while the PS3 has exclusives of every genre, that and the Xbox really sucks when it comes to RPGs.

Both systems have their merits but, you'd buy an Xbox if you like more Shooters and a PS3 if you like a little more variety leaning towards RPGs.

ps3 is better becueas no pay for online the games are better looking they have great titles the have devil may cry they make awesome RPGs plus it is a blue ray player

I love what you put here! XD Honestly I love the PS3 more sometimes I use it to watch anime from websites on my tv, but I also love more of the games that are for the PS3. The PS3 is like a computer and Game console in one, which is most definitely why I love it! (^^)

I have a 360 and it is great, I like the controller better with the actual triggers and not shoulder button, the ps3 is great itself! my brother owns one and the graphics with the bluray seem better, and for the games it is a toss up, some exclusive games come out only for 360 and some for the ps3, but for many games the ps3 gets better ones like anime games and others along that general line
